ABOUT LEE

Believing you, supporting you,
advocating with you.

I'm Lee — a Social Service Worker registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, and Psychotherapist. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Addictions Treatment and Prevention, and I'm based in Barrie, ON.

I started this practice because I kept hearing the same stories — and living some of them myself. Anchor was born from that experience, and the fire it lit hasn't gone out.

You're not too much. Your pain is real. Your grief matters. You don't have to justify why you're still struggling.

I work with individuals ages 12 and up navigating chronic illness, chronic pain, medical gaslighting, disenfranchised grief, trauma, caregiver burnout, and the life changes that make you question everything.

At Anchor, being believed isn't something you have to earn. It's where we start

Lee Outside the Office

When I'm not in session, you'll find me with an Alani Nu in hand, always. I'm a mom of twins, a lifelong Hanson fan, and an avid concert goer. If you need a personality reference point, think somewhere in the David Rose range. Particular, a little dry, and deeply committed to doing things well. I wouldn't have it any other way..

HOW I CAN HELP

My Offerings

  • Individual Therapy

One-on-one sessions built around you; your pace, your story, your goals. Together we'll work through what's weighing on you and build the tools to help you carry it differently.

  • Chronic Illness Therapy

Living with chronic illness means carrying more than most people see. These sessions are a space where your symptoms are believed, your grief is honoured, and we work through the emotional weight of a life that illness has shaped — without you having to explain or justify a thing.

  • Patient Advocacy

Navigating the healthcare system when you're already exhausted is its own kind of hard. I'll help you prepare for appointments, understand your options, communicate with providers, and advocate for the care you deserve, so you don't have to do it alone.

  • Appointment Accompaniment

Having someone in your corner in the during appointments changes everything. I'll come with you to medical appointments, hospital visits, specialist consultations. Ensuring you have support, a second set of ears, and someone to help you speak up when it matters most.

  • Trauma Recovery

Trauma has a way of living in the body long after the moment has passed. We'll work at your pace, with approaches that are gentle and grounding, to help you process what happened and reconnect with a sense of safety in yourself.

  • Grief & Loss

Grief doesn't follow a timeline, and it doesn't always look the way people expect — including the loss of a pet, a diagnosis, a version of yourself, or a life you thought you'd have. Whatever you're grieving, it belongs here.

MY PHILOSOPHY

You deserve to be believed.

You Were Never the Problem

Most people who come to Anchor have already been failed somewhere along the way — by a system that moved too fast, a provider who didn't listen, or a world that kept asking them to prove their pain was real.

Why I Built This Practice

Anchor was born from personal experience. Living with chronic illness taught me things no textbook could, and when I looked for a therapist who truly got it, I realized that kind of understanding was hard to find. So I built it.

Seeing people dismissed, disbelieved, and failed by the very systems meant to care for them lit a fire in me that hasn't gone out. That fire is what drives this work every single day.

What You Can Expect

I believe your symptoms are real, your grief is valid, and your frustration with the system makes complete sense. This is a space where we work through what's weighing on you and move toward the care and support you actually deserve — without you ever having to prove yourself first.

At Anchor, being believed isn't something you have to earn. It's where we start.

Ready to feel that for yourself?

CLIENT STORIES

Words that inspire

Please note, all quotes have been shared with client consent.

  • "I’m incredibly grateful to have found a therapist who really understands the connection between mental health and chronic illness. Lee creates a space where both the emotional and physical realities of my struggles are acknowledged without judgment. Her deep compassion and awareness of medical trauma have made it easier to open up about experiences that often feel dismissed elsewhere. I feel seen, validated, and supported in a way that’s been hard to find, and that has already made a meaningful difference in my healing."

    Hailey C.

  • "Lee is kind, warm, funny, and genuinely easy to talk to; I never felt judged. Lee also wasn't afraid to challenge me or push me outside my comfort zone when I needed it. She always met me where I was, and that balance made such a difference. Really grateful for Lee and Anchor Counselling."

    MEGAN P.

  • "Lee was a lifesaver; and I mean that genuinely. Navigating the hospital system when you're already sick and overwhelmed is a lot, and Lee made it so much less scary.; she actually listened, fought for me when I needed it, and made sure I understood everything that was happening. I never felt alone in it. If you're lucky enough to have Lee in your corner, you'll know exactly what I mean."
